  • Setting OSC type from Microcode Studio

    I have a project that uses a 18f2321 running at 40Mhz.

When I select Compile & Program from the Microcode studio IDE it fires up the U2 programming software as expected. However the default oscillator mode is always reset to HS and I have to change it each time to HSPLL.

Is there a way to pass the oscillator mode as part of the command line, so I don't have to set it each time?

    Regards

If using PBP 3.0 or later, see the #CONFIG directive in the manual. You might want to download the latest revision of PBP3 from http://pbp3.com, as there were minor changes to the device reference files in the 3.0.4 release.

If using PBP 2.60C or earlier, the process is a bit more difficult. See http://melabs.com/support/config_defaults.htm for a complete writeup.

The programmer reads the configuration from the hex file, so your compiler must place the correct information within. For those using compilers other than PBP, the appropriate configuration directives may be added to your source program.

Thanks Charles, I'm using PBP3 so I'll check out the #CONFIG stuff.

      Cheers
