  • meProg U2 v5.7 won't launch "Access violation..." after upgrading os to windows 2016

(was running ok on Win 7 64-bit)

ME Labs U2 PROGRAMMER error: Access violation at address 0041388D in module "meprog.exe". Wrie of address 00000270
After upgrading os form Win 7(64bit) to Win 2016 & reorganizing my files, I am getting above programmer error using PICs: 6C711 & 16F716 .
    I am using:
1- Mecanique MicroCode Studio MCSX v3.0.0.5 - (IDE) text editor to write program in pic Basic - OR use MPLAB (IDE)
2- PicBasic Pro 2.50C PBP Compiler - compiles Basic prog into assembly
3- ME Labs U2 PROGRAMMER v5.- loads it into PIC using USB Zif Socket
I did: Users of 64-bit systems must instruct PBP to use the Microchip Assembler, MPASMWIN.

Is Programmer ME Labs U2 v5.7 (4.32) compatible with Microsoft 2016 os?

You may need to download the latest MPLABX to work with the newer stuff.
We can crack this cotton PIC'n thang!

Charles suggested upgrading the programmer software which I did, and fixed it.
