    No. The U2 can only program MCUs it has been programmed to work with. The 16-bit chips are not loaded into the U2 software. You'll have to use one of the Microchip variants; PICKit4 (the older PICKit3 won't work), ICD4 (again, the older ICD3 probably won't work), Snap, or one of the other recent releases from 3rd party vendors. Since PBP3 doesn't work with 16-bit processors, the U2 Programmer is not equipped to program them either.
