  • Expected Release Update of U2 Programer software

I am testing another build now, which will probably be 4.60. Darrel's death turned everything upside down. I'm just beginning to get things under control. I'm not going to predict a release date because my life isn't the least bit predictable right now.

The executable seems to be working, but I have yet to prepare files for additional devices. Those few devices that require new programming algorithms will be omitted in order to get this done as quickly as possible.

I'm still completely overwhelmed with work, Sheldon.

Is there a specific device that you need support for? I might be able to produce a few files between emergencies.

            Hi Charles ,

i was hoping the updated file has been done to support the 18f67k22 error that darrel confirmed in the serial number in the user id area has been resolved.

            refer post 8 of

it is not urgent as i can get around the problem how ever using the user id area is more practical in the long term for my use.

I'm trying to get a beta version ready this week. Things seem to have settled down a bit.

hi charles, updated the software to current beta 52, but have found that my known programs keep crashing now

wondering if the firmware is also needed to be updated for this release

If the programmer warns you that new firmware is available, then yes, you should update it.

                          Hi Charles
Are there any issues with using the V4.5 with Windows 8.1 . I get an error message siting NT installer everytime I compile to programme with MCS pro. I also got errors with the install package to reinstall PBP3 on my new machine.
                          Cheers Pete

The error usually indicates that the meProg software is looking for a non-existent parallel port. You can inhibit this behavior by adding a "-S" to the command-line parameters.

Thanks Charles I have it installed now. It also struggled to install MPLab throwing a couple of errors but it does seem to work now.

                              Cheers Pete
