  • PBP3 and Microchip UNI/O Support

Any future support for Microchip's UNI/O one wire protocol, say for the 11LC160 UNI/O EEPROM?

    UNIOUT Pin, Device, Command, Variable
    UNIIN Pin, Device, Command, Variable

    Where Pin is: PortX.x

    Where Device is:
    %0000xxxx ' Reserved
    %0011xxxx ' Display Controllers
    %0100xxxx ' I/O port expanders
    %1000xxxx ' Frequency/Quadrature/PWM encoders, Real-Time Clocks
    %1001xxxx ' Temperature sensors
    %1010xxxx ' EEPROMs
    %1011xxxx ' Encryption/Authentication Devices
    %1100xxxx ' DC/DC Converters
    %1101xxxx ' A/D converters

    Where Command is:
    UNI_WRITE ' Write
    UNI_WREN ' Write enable
    UNI_WRDI ' Write disable
    UNI_WRSR ' Write status
    UNI_ERAL ' Erase all
    UNI_SETAL ' Set all

What ever happened to this suggestion/request ???
Will there be a PicBasic Statement for the Microchip's UNI/O one wire EEProm
    protocol?

Had to buy a PicAxe kit that includes the UNI/O UNIn and UNIOUT statements.
I would rather use our PicBasic Pro to do the Job.

      Also want

What ever happened to this wish ???
I've been using PicBasic Pro for over 16 years and love it.
this UNI/O statement would really come in handy.

Yeah I agree... a Microchip UNI/O Write and Read PBP statement would be
on my wish list as well.

I've been bit banging the protocol for a week now with only minor advances.
I've been able to write to a 11LC010 and have it respond (seen on DSO) but
am still not able to read the data.

Yea, a little over 2 years ago when I make the wish to MeLabs I was working on a project where I thought a 1 wire UNI/O might be a nice security feature. Kinda like the eeprom that stores the USB VID and PID information for a cypress chip.

Any way, not a peep from MeLabs. I didn't have a Saleae logic analyzer to help decode the UNI/O protocol. Any way I gave up on the idea.

I'm a loyal PBP user but I've been forced to purchased a PICaxe Kit
to read/write the 11LC010 EEProms but would have preferred to use
the PBP Pro that I've upgraded regularly and have been using for over
            15 years.

As far as I know the 11LCXXX all use the same Manchester type
protocol so it shouldn't be that difficult to implement like PICaxe did.
