  • Smaller lookup table space

I would like for 8-bit (byte) lookup tables made using the LOOKUP command to use less program memory space. It seems the commas that separate the entries in the table are also programmed into memory, doubling the required space. I am using enough of these tables in a current application they consequently won't fit in available memory. I could go to a PIC with more memory, of course, but seems like unnecessary overkill.

mike and i experiment with different ways to pack fonts [lookup tables really] into small spaces on pic16 and 18 devices and various ways to efficiently extract the looked up data. some is discussed/done in C but not all . if you need code space minimisation its the way to go
