  • What is BLOCK_SIZE

I saw on the new update of PBP 3.0.5 that was a correction regarding the BLOCK_SIZE of the 16(L)F1826 and 1827 chips.

What is this and does it affect my programms on the specified chip I am using?

BLOCK_SIZE is the number of words written to flash in a single write using WRITECODE.

It coresponds to the number of "Holding Registers" also called "Write Latches", which varies for each chip.

The datasheet shows a diagram with 32 write latches, and the .pbpinc had BLOCK_SIZE 32.
But the diagram was generic, and the chips only have 8 write latches.

As you noted, this was corrected in PBP3 v3.0.5.x

      Thanks Darrel.

Lucky me, wasn't using this feature on the 1827.
