  • Question about Config fuses

OK this is taken from the 16F877a.inc file

    #CONFIG
    ifdef PM_USED
    device pic16F877A, xt_osc, wdt_on, lvp_off, protect_off
    else
    __config _XT_OSC & _WDT_ON & _LVP_OFF & _CP_OFF
    endif
    #ENDCONFIG

My question is what does " PM_USED " refer to? I see one set of fuse settings has the "&" seperating the fuses and one uses commas. Why? Thanks.

The device statements are left over from previous versions of PicBasic Pro.
The PM.exe assembler that used them is no longer part of PBP.

They don't do any harm being there, so they just haven't been taken out yet.
    You can just ignore them.

The __config statements are what's used by MPASM.

      Hi Darrell,

Thanks. So just so that I understand this in the config fuse statment I need to use the "&" to seperate the fuse statments?

        Yes, that's correct.
        Use &'s in-between.
