ME Labs used to distribute our own assembler, PM.EXE. We retired it years ago because it wasn't compatible with 64-bit systems.

PBP 2.60 and prior, including the Demo version, can be switched between the end-of-life PM.EXE and Microchip's MPASMWIN.EXE.

PBP 3.0 and later will use MPASMWIN.EXE or MPASMX.EXE.
